About Jasper Marine

Jasper Marine was founded on the craftsmanship and discipline learned while building rugged commercial boats for some of the world’s toughest waters. Today, that same commitment to safety, reliability, and quality guides every build, including the trusted Defender 22.

Built on Experience

Every great company has a defining origin, not just a launch date. Jasper Marine evolved through years of hands-on craftsmanship, and today stands as a world class boat builder known for it’s commitment to quality, integrity, and boats that people love and rely on.

Where Our Story Began

Jasper’s personal journey started not in a showroom, but in the rugged commercial boatyards of New Zealand. Working at Q-West Boat Builders, he helped build vessels designed for the relentless Tasman Sea and Southern Ocean. These weren’t hobby boats, they were passenger and supply craft where reliability meant safety, and every decision mattered.

That environment instilled lessons that still guide Jasper Marine today:

  • Engineer for safety first.

  • Build with a level of craftsmanship that earns trust and respect on the water.

  • Bring beauty to aluminum crafts.

Those values became the foundation of Jasper Marine.

From a Single Promise to a Growing Legacy

When Jasper returned to British Columbia, he built two custom boats for close family friends, not as part of a business plan, but to follow his passion and to create something seaworthy, dependable, and long-lasting.

Over the years that followed, Jasper Marine crafted one custom boat at a time, ranging from 18 to 54 feet. Each project was collaborative, personal, and built with an unwavering rule: no shortcuts, ever.

The Defender 22. A Boat That Defined Our Direction

By 2024, one design consistently stood out: the Defender 22. Versatile. Comfortable. Capable in challenging conditions yet welcoming for families and explorers.

So we did what great builders do:

We focused. We refined. And we committed to bringing the Defender 22 Series to more people while preserving the craftsmanship that made it special in the first place.

Our first limited production run sold out within weeks, and the Defender 22 quickly began earning its place on waters around the world.

Our Commitment to You

At Jasper Marine our commitment is simple:

  • Build boats that inspire confidence.

  • Support customers like long-term partners.

  • Continue innovating without ever compromising quality.

From our first weld to the moment you leave the dock with your new boat, and every season after, our goal is to make sure your Jasper Marine boat feels like the right decision, year after year.

Because when you’re on the water, trust isn’t optional. It’s everything.

A Builder With a Global Outlook and a Personal Touch

Today, Jasper Marine continues to grow, but our philosophy remains grounded in where we started.

  • We build with intention.

  • We design for real conditions and real life.

  • And we stand behind every hull with pride.

Whether navigating quiet inland lakes, challenging coastal passages, or ocean adventures, our customers share one thing in common: they want boats they can trust.

And that’s exactly what we build.
